Lofty Industrial Rooms ~

Bonjour ~~

Many thoughts enter my mind when I try to figure out what my style is~~ I tend to enjoy painting shabby chic style ~ the chippy paint look, distressed technique, somewhat rusty; all these are enjoyable to me on furniture, and yet, I am feeling that I prefer the look of an industrial chic loft for my home. The photos below are examples of what comes to my mind when I think of "how" I would like my home to look. I dream of living in a loft someday.  In the meantime, I am hoping to transform my home in some way to take on the look of a loft while I wait for my DREAM to live in a loft to manifest itself someday.

Job 36:22-31

22 Behold, God exalts and does loftily in His power; who is a ruler or a teacher like Him?

23 Who has appointed God His way? Or who can say, You have done unrighteousness?

24 Remember that [by submission] you magnify God’s work, of which men have sung.

25 All men have looked upon God’s work; man may behold it afar off.

26 Behold, God is great, and we know Him not! The number of His years is unsearchable.

27 For He draws up the drops of water, which distil as rain from His vapor,

28 Which the skies pour down and drop abundantly upon [the multitudes of] mankind.

29 Not only that, but can anyone understand the spreadings of the clouds or the thunderings of His pavilion?

30 Behold, He spreads His lightning against the dark clouds and covers the roots of the sea.

31 For by [His clouds] God executes judgment upon the peoples; He gives food in abundance.

32 He covers His hands with the lightning and commands it to strike the mark.

33 His thunderings speak [awesomely] concerning Him; the cattle are told of His coming storm

Entering Like a Child ~

Bonjour ~

My oldest daughter was going to stay in the car today while I went grocery shopping, but then changed her mind at the last minute.  The cutest funniest things can happen when shopping with your children. We were just about to leave when my giggling girls decided to "Check Out" the teddy bears. Then the giggles started and the picture taking began. I was happy that my oldest who is 17 and will be graduating this June, changed her mind to tag along with me and her little sister Eva in the big adventurous grocery store named Costco.  You never know what kind of fun one will stumble upon especially when one is with children, just as the bible says "to enter as children"

Matthew 18:1-5

1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, asking, "Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?"

2 So Jesus called a child, had him stand in front of them,

3 and said, "I assure you that unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven.

4 The greatest in the Kingdom of heaven is the one who humbles himself and becomes like this child.

5 And whoever welcomes in my name one such child as this, welcomes me.

Crate & Barrel Gift Card ~

Bonjour ~~~

I feel so blessed by God ~~ I had entered a Crate & Barrel sweepstakes and actually won!  I received in the mail an official Crate & Barrel $500 gift card.  At first, I thought it was too good to be true, but it is true.  God is good, thank you Lord for the blessing today ~  Now, I am wondering what I shall pick out from the store, Yesterday, my husband and I went to Crate & Barrel to browse the beautiful furniture and lighting. There is so many neat things there. The hard part is trying to decide how to use the gift card wisely.  I feel we could really use a new table. Our current table in our dining room is 17 years old. We all use it for an office, it is where our laptop is and where the kids do homework.  The chair cushions are white and tearing in certain areas and the arm rests fall off every now and then. In the pictures below, there are some black chairs, however, the chair I like is the white one, at the end of the table.  Hmm~ not sure however, there is a nice light there as well which would be well used in our family room ~ Regardless, I feel like God placed his hand in the drawing and pulled out my name.  How sweet HE is.

Ephesians 1:3-6

3 Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

For in our union with Christ he has blessed us by giving us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world.

4 Even before the world was made, God had already chosen us to be his through our union with Christ,

so that we would be holy and without fault before him.

Because of his love 5 God had already decided that through Jesus Christ he would make us his sons-

this was his pleasure and purpose.

6 Let us praise God for his glorious grace, for the free gift he gave us in his dear Son!

Shabby Chic Wood Drawer ~

Bonjour ~

My daughter likes to place her collectible treasures, like fairy wands, princess crowns adorned with plastic jewels, feathers, and little ponies in a old drawer I found at a garage sale for free.  I have painted it white and lightly distressed it. We tied a pretty piece of polka dot lace around the knob as well.  The drawer is easily transported to the bathroom where Eva plays pretend while I get dressed and ready for the day. Clean up is easy as there is no particular order in which the cute toys are placed back in her little shabby chic white drawer.

Proverbs 3:13-18

13 Happy is the man who becomes wise - who comes to have understanding.

14 There is more profit in it than there is in silver; it is worth more to you than gold.

15 Wisdom is more valuable than jewels; nothing you could want can compare with it

16 Wisdom offers you long life, as well as wealth and honor.

17 Wisdom can make your life pleasant and lead you safely through it.

18 Those who become wise are happy; wisdom will give them life.

Bonjour ~

What would you do with a little side table, shabby chic, with character, and style, a floral adornment, a leafy center applique, and even a little rust?  Would you sell it or keep it?  So here it is~

Matthew 6:19-21

19 " Do not store up riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal.

20 Instead, store up riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal.

21 For where your treasure is,

there your heart will also be.

Living a faithful life ~

 Bonjour ~

My son, Nathan, was off to camp through his elementary school today. He confided in me that he was nervous about going and after talking about what he was afraid of, it was the thought of being lonely. I encouraged him, that the thought of loneliness is comforted when one realizes that God always takes care of us no matter where we are and he is always with us.  He smiled and I smiled too.

 Matthew 6:25-34
Do Not Worry
25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink:

Or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they?
27 Who of you by worrying can add  a single hour to his life?
28 And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field,

which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire,
will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 So do not worry, saying, ' What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or What shall we wear?'

32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,

and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Industrial Round Porthole Mirror ~

Isaiah 40:22

New International Version (NIV)
22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,
and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

Bonjour ~

I am excited about this industrial round porthole mirror I found at Tuesday Morning.  I am liking industrial chic style and find this mirror suits the look, big bold bolts, circular, and even made from solid salvaged wood (drained mango trees or wood from damaged boats).  I also like the white shabby chic style mirrors as seen in another post of mine as seen in one of Rachel Ashwell's books.  I have not hung the mirror and am waiting for my lovely husband to help with the endeavor. I am thinking it will look good in my dining room as the circular shape will offset the square shapes in the room.

~ A circular mirror, reminds me of the circular shape of the Earth and how Jesus is enthroned above us.~
